PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it was
awarded a contract from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (Authority) to
provide resident engineering and construction inspection services for
roadwide guide sign improvements on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Officials estimate the construction value to be $26 million.
Construction began July 2015 with substantial completion anticipated for
the fall of 2017.
This project is being implemented as part the Authority's 10-year
capital investment program. The primary purpose is to replace and/or
upgrade the roadway signs and sign legends to be consistent with the
Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is providing supervision of
construction for Construction Contract No. T600.319, roadwide guide sign
improvements on the New Jersey Turnpike including replacement of
existing guide sign panels; fabrication and installation of new sign
structures; removal of existing sign structures; relocation of existing
cantilever sign structures at new locations; constructing foundations
for new and relocated structures; sign lighting work; installation of
roadway safety features; and associated maintenance and protection of
traffic (MPT) work. This project also includes fabrication and
installation of a new VMS structure on the Turnpike; reconnecting signs
and ITS devises to the existing system; and testing and final
commissioning.
