Jacobs
Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced that it is part of a
consortium led by professional services firm KPMG that has delivered a
study for the Singapore Government comprising possible financing and
operating models for the proposed High Speed Rail (HSR) project linking
Singapore with Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
As Technical Consultant, Jacobs has provided consulting services
regarding ridership and revenue forecasts.
The Kuala Lumpur–Singapore HSR would span approximately 350km and
require the construction of a new rail line. Once completed, travel time
by HSR between the two cities would be approximately 90 minutes.
Upon making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Kevin McMahon

including several in the UK, Hong Kong and Europe. This is a landmark
project for the region that aims to significantly reduce travel times
