Jacobs
Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today it received a
sub-contract from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS) to
provide telecommunications operations and maintenance services to the
Savannah River Site (SRS), a United States Department of Energy (DOE)
facility located near Aiken, South Carolina.
Under the terms of the sub-contract, Jacobs is providing services,
materials, transportation and equipment to operate and maintain the
telecommunications system for the site. The telecommunications system
includes voice switching equipment, transport systems, unified
communications systems, video systems, data networking systems, an
outside cable plant, an inside cable plant, distribution frames,
subscriber station equipment and ancillary equipment. On-site personnel
are expected to provide services to several major areas distributed
across a 310-square mile reservation.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Senior Vice President Aerospace and
