PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Jacobs
Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today its
Philadelphia-based interior design group provided services for
Saint-Gobain’s newly opened, state-of-the-art corporate headquarters for
North America.
Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of building and
high performance materials, officially opened its new headquarters in
Malvern, Pennsylvania on October 15, 2015 – the company’s official
350-year anniversary. The 320,000-square-foot campus, situated on 65
acres, has undergone a transformative renovation over the past 18 months
to create a dynamic showcase for Saint-Gobain and its North American
construction materials subsidiary CertainTeed Corporation.
The facility is a high-performance, sustainable building designed to
achieve the highest level of Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the
commercial interiors and the core and shell.
As interior design lead for the project, Jacobs was asked to address
specific requests related to Saint-Gobain’s workplace environment. These
requirements included minimizing barriers between groups to encourage
collaboration and creating a dynamic environment that inspires
creativity. The interior design supports employee wellbeing by
maximizing exposure to daylight, encouraging healthy eating, providing a
state-of-the-art fitness center and incorporating effective acoustic
treatments and lighting.
The interior fit-out focused on maximizing the use of many of
Saint-Gobain’s innovative products. Thirty-eight interior products from
the Saint-Gobain family of companies were used, including many ceiling
products and other dynamic decorative ceilings materials were featured
in collaborative spaces to ensure maximum acoustical quality. Exterior
siding product and textured glass were used unconventionally within the
cafeteria, creating an engaging showcase for Saint-Gobain products.
Acoustic wall and ceiling treatments as well as low noise reduction
coefficient gypsum wall board help to provide a comfortable environment
for the employees.
Commenting on the announcement, Jacobs Buildings & Infrastructure Senior
Vice President Randy Pierce said, “We are delighted to have played a

unique international interior design experience and expertise.”
