Jacobs
Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) has secured a key architectural
design role in the $300 (approximately AUD$400) million second phase of
the transformational Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals Expansion
Project in Australia. The hospital is being built to accommodate
population growth in Sydney’s western suburbs.
Jacobs will deliver architectural services for stage two of the project,
which includes a new emergency ward, intensive care unit, operating
theaters and birthing and maternity departments. The company is also
responsible for the electrical, information and communications
technology, and security system design for this next stage.

Jacobs was involved in phase one of this project, which began in 2011,
providing architectural and engineering design services for the 32,000
square meter, seven story clinical-services building.
